PATNA/MADHEPURA: Three criminals who were running away after looting gold jewellery from a shop were caught by the villagers and beaten up at Pratappur village under the Majhagarh police station area in Gopalganj district on Tuesday.
Police reached the spot and rescued the criminals from the clutches of the villagers. They were later admitted to the sadar hospital at Gopalganj.
The criminals were identified as
Noorhasan Mian,
Pappu Mian and Guddu Singh.
Drunk dy mukhiya held:
Upendra Yadav, the newly-elected deputy mukhiya of Raipur panchayat in Jamui, was arrested by the police in an inebriated state. He had taken an oath not to drink liquor after winning the election. Acting on a tip-off, police raided Yadav’s house in Bhaud village and found him drinking liquor at a party.
