Chicago-Based Owners Of The Patriot Café Talk Favorite Restaurants In The Windy City

Marzena Jonak and Woody Lee Allen are the co-founders of The Patriot Café, a CBD company whose mission is to educate on the benefits of hemp. Their home base is Chicago. As two entrepreneurs, where they wine and dine potential business partners and clients is important. Here are two fine dining establishments in the Windy City that have their stamp of approval.

Gibsons Italia

Owned by Gibsons Restaurant Group, Gibsons Italia is an iconic steakhouse helmed by Chef Jose Sosa. Chef Sosa has been with the restaurant group since 2008 and is currently carrying on the tradition of fine steaks at Gibsons Italia. This restaurant features three levels with an expansive wine list, two fireplaces and an impressive roof deck.

Gibsons Restaurant Group is the first restaurant group in the country to have its own USDA certification program, as such its steak selection is phenomenal. From Prime Angus cuts that include the dry-aged double cut porterhouse and the long bone tomahawk; to grass fed Australian steaks aged for a minimum of 75 days; to Japanese cut-to-order steaks from the Kagawa prefectures and Miyazaki Prefectures of Japan; and the rare Carrara 640 Wagyu New York Strip, the quality is unbeatable.

The upscale menu also offers highlights that include a 7-year aged acquerello risotto with Viking Village sea scallops, Parmigiano Reggiano and baby leeks or with wild black trumpet mushrooms, crispy sunchokes winter black truffles. The restaurant also feature fresh shellfish platters and house-made gold-extruded pastas that include dishes like the cacio e pepe with Pecorino Locatelli and tellicherry peppercorn; the Mafaldine with Neapolitan beef and onion sugo, Pecorino Romano and Parmigiano Reggiano; and the ravioli carbonara with crispy prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano and winter black truffle.

This top notch new American rooftop restaurant offers diners an expansive outdoor setting on its rooftop patio. Complete with views of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks, this dining destination offers a menu of seafood dishes that include a seafood platter starter with shell-less whole lobster oysters, poached shrimp and trout tartare; fresh oysters on the half shell; lobster arrabbiata made with one whole cold water lobster, spaghetti alla chitarra, cherry tomatoes, fine herbs arrabbiata sauce; ora king salmon with baby bok choy and charred cauliflower and more.

Meat-lovers will be drooling over their selection of steaks that include a 7 oz. filet mignon with summer potatoes; a prime New York Strip with veal jus; braised truffle short rib with shaved truffle; and an impressive wagyu reserve entrée which comes with a  7 oz. wagyu filet, cold water lobster, asparagus glazed mushrooms, and caviar cream.
