Cuttack district court shut after 39 staffers test Covid positive

The court of district judge, Cuttack on Friday shut down its subordinate court complexes with 39 of its staff testing positive for Covid-19 so far. The shutdown followed the declaration of the civil court complex as a containment zone by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.

CUTTACK: The court of district judge, Cuttack on Friday shut down its subordinate court complexes with 39 of its staff testing positive for Covid-19 so far. The shutdown followed the declaration of the civil court complex as a containment zone by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.
In an order, district judge Bidyut Kumar Mishra notified that the courts and offices of the headquarters station in the district court complex and the subdivisional judicial magistrate court complex shall be completely shut from January 14 to 19.

The courts and offices of the headquarters station in Cuttack shall resume normal work from January 22. Only urgent matters can be taken up by the courts concerned in virtual mode, the order read.
The registry of the district judge court had reported that 39 cases had been detected in the civil court complex until Thursday.
