    Suriya-Jyothika, Chiranjeevi celebrate Pongal with pomp, Rajinikanth steps out to greet fans

    Southern superstars took to social media to celebrte Sankranti and Pongal with their fans.

    Suriya-Jyothika and superstars Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth took social media by storm on Sankranti.
    Superstars from the Tamil and Telugu film industries celebrated Makar Sankranti and Pongal with pomp on Friday. Suriya and his wife Jyothika, Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi and his family took to social media to mark the celebrations with their fans. Rajinikanth came out of his home in Chennai to greet his fans on the occasion.
    Superstar Chiranjeevi celebrated Sankranti with his extended family. The actor shared a video of the celebration on his Instagram account. The actor was seen with brother Naga Babu, brother-in-law Allu Arvind.
    In the video shared by Chiranjeevi, his family members took turns to wish millions of fans on the occasion. "Andariki Bhogi Sankranti subhakankshalu (Wish everyone a happy Bhogi and Sankranti). Love you all,” said the actor before moving on to other family members in the short clip.

    The video shows actor Varun Tej, Allu Arvind, Ram Charan and wife Upasana Kamineni, Sai Dharam Tej and Niharika Konidela were seen around a bonfire engaged conversations.

    Varun Konidela also shared a video showing the superstar attempting to make a dosa.
    Meanwhile, Jyothika, wife of superstar Suriya, shared pictures of her family celebrating Pongal at their Chennai home. The star couple was seen dressed in traditional attire in the pictures shared on Instagram.
    Suriya, a renowned Tamil actor, became a household name across India after the success of his films 'Jay Bhim' and 'Soorarai Pottru' which was dubbed as 'Udaan'. Both were released on OTT platforms and went on to become critically acclaimed films.

    Other actors who wished fans on the occasion include Superstar Rajinikanth, Jr NTR, and Prabhu Deva.

    Rajinikanth, in a tweet in Tamil, said that Covid-19 cases were increasing by each passing day and that there was nothing above health. He ended his wish by saying, "My heartfelt Pongal wishes to everyone,". The superstar also stepped outside his home Chennai to greet fans.
    Meanwhile, veteran actress and Mathura MP Hema Malini was seen celebrating Pongal at her home. “Celebrated Pongal with the family today. Here I am making the Pongal at home,” said the actress in her post.
