In-demand Leeds United superstar Raphinha has been highly sought after in the current transfer window and now former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has encouraged the club to sign him.

Raphinha has been the stand-out player at Elland Road this season and his contribution to the team this season would make him a useful asset at other clubs elsewhere.

And now O’Hara, who made 56 appearances for Spurs between 2005-2011 after coming through the Academy, has admitted that he would "love" to see the Brazilian in north London following his side’s 3-2 victory at West Ham United on Sunday.

The former Wolves midfielder admitted that he is a big fan of Raphinha and wants to see him in a Spurs shirt under Antonio Conte.

Adama Traore is a current transfer target for Conte but a big money move for the Leeds man would arguably be a bigger coup for the club, although he would certainly test the financial backing of the owners in north London.

He has eight goals in 16 appearances so far this season, and after another assist against West Ham on Sunday, O’Hara has seen enough to know his former club should sign him.

Following the London Stadium clash, the talkSPORT pundit said: "He glides past people, the way he moves, the free kick he almost scored. Everything about his game…

"I would love him at Spurs, I would love him. But I don’t know if he would ever come, and Leeds definitely wouldn’t sell him. Brilliant player."

Raphinha has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the past month but there were reports that Leeds had offered their winger new and improved contract terms to keep him at the club.

Holding on to the 25-year-old will be crucial for the Yorkshire club in their battle to avoid the drop this season and letting him leave in January is unlikely unless an offer they couldn’t refuse came in.

It is thought that it would cost Spurs at least £50 million to buy the Brazilian winger, but given Adama Traore may only cost £20m, Spurs would be more likely to go for the Wolves man.

However, a summer bid could certainly be tabled by Spurs for Raphinha, when Leeds are more likely to let him go when they have more time to find a replacement.

What gives Spurs even more of an advantage of bringing the winger to north London is if they can secure some form of European football for next season, with Raphinha more than ready to step up to the plate should it come to it.
