    Stocks in the news: Bajaj Auto, Hero Moto, NTPC, Dixon, LTTS and ICICI Pru

    Bajaj Auto, L&T Info, ICICI Lombard, JSW Energy, Tata Communications, OFFS, Syngene International, Sterlite Techn, Saregama and Mastek are among the companies that will announce their December quarter results today.

    Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 16 points, or 0.09 per cent lower at 18,122.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Wednesday. Here are a dozen stocks which may buzz the most in today's trade:

    Bajaj Auto, L&T Info, ICICI Lombard:
    Larsen & Toubro Infotech, Bajaj Auto, ICICI General Insurance Company, JSW Energy, Tata Communications, Oracle Financial Services, Syngene International, Sterlite Technologies, Saregama India and Mastek are among the companies that will announce their December quarter results today.

    Bajaj Finance: The leading NBFC reported an 85.5 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 2,125.29 crore for the third quarter of the current fiscal. Net profit stood at Rs 1,145.98 crore in the year-ago period. Total income increased to Rs 8,535.06 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 6,658.34 crore in the year-ago period.

    Hero MotoCorp:
    Two-wheeler market leader and investment firm Engine No. 1, along with another investor, will invest in electric vehicle battery swapping ecosystems provider Gogoro Inc and Poema Global Holdings, a special purpose acquisition company, increasing the total funding to $285 million.

    NTPC: The state-owned power giant has invited bids from developers to build a 900-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic parks in Cuba. "NTPC Ltd, India's largest integrated energy producer, invites bids from developers to build the solar PV parks in the Republic of Cuba," it said.

    ICICI Prudential Life Insurance: The private life insurer reported a marginal two per cent year-on-year growth in its net income to Rs 311 crore for the December 2021 quarter, on higher sales of policies.

    L&T Technology Services: The IT player reported 34 per cent jump in December quarter net profit at Rs 248.8 crore, driven majorly by profit margin expansion. Revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,687.5 crore from Rs 1,400 crore in the year-ago period.

    Dixon Technologies: The electronics manufacturing firm and Imagine Marketing, the parent company of home-grown earwear brand boAt, have formed a 50:50 joint venture to manufacture Bluetooth-enabled audio devices and aims to have a revenue of Rs 1,000 crore in the next four years.

    ICICI Securities: The brokerage reported a 42 per cent growth in profit after tax at Rs 380 crore for the December 2021 quarter. The company had posted a PAT of Rs 267 crore in the corresponding quarter of the preceding fiscal.

    DCM Shriram:
    The sugar producer posted a 38 per cent growth in profit after tax (PAT) for the third quarter ending December 31, 2021, at Rs 350 crore compared to that of Rs 253 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations of the company during the quarter under review grew by 26.5 per cent to Rs 2,730 crore.

    Tata Elxsi: The IT software player said its net profit increased 43.5 per cent to Rs 151 crore in December quarter 2021-22. The company is among the world's leading design and technology services providers across industries, including Automotive, Broadcast, Communications, Healthcare, and Transportation.

    Network18 Media & Investments: The media firm reported a 7.93 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 306.94 crore for the third quarter ended December 2021. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 333.38 crore in the October-December quarter a year ago.

    Trident:
    The textiles firm reported an 88 per cent jump in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 211.09 crore in the third quarter ended in December 2021. The company had posted a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 112.15 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal.

    Newgen Software Technologies: The IT player said its consolidated net profit increased about 35 per cent to Rs 47.8 crore in December quarter 2021-22. The company also announced the acquisition of Number Theory Software. Newgen registered a net profit of Rs 35.41 crore in December quarter 2020-21.

    Just Dial: The Internet company said its consolidated net profit declined by 61.2 per cent to Rs 19.4 crore for the quarter ended in December 2021. The company's net profit stood at Rs 49.9 crore in the year-ago period.

    TV18 Broadcast: The media firm reported a 17.4 per cent drop in its consolidated net profit to Rs 311.55 crore for the third quarter ended December 2021. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 377.20 crore for the October-December period of the previous fiscal.

    Shriram Properties: The realty firm reported a marginal increase in its sales bookings to Rs 415 crore during the quarter ended December. Its sales bookings had stood at Rs 410 crore in the year-ago period. During the first nine months of this fiscal, the total sales bookings crossed the Rs 1,000-crore mark.

    Shalimar Paints: Hella Infra Market, the parent company of Infra.Market, will invest Rs 270 crore through a combination of equity and debentures in Shalimar Paints.

    Alok Industries: The textile company reported consolidated loss at Rs 0.09 crore in the December 2021 quarter against a loss of Rs 35.12 crore in same quarter previous fiscal. The revenue jumped to Rs 2,129.60 crore from Rs 1,201.80 crore during the period under review.
