Thane: Man booked for manhandling TMC official in Mumbra

THANE: The Mumbra Police have booked a man for allegedly manhandling a Thane Municipal Corporation assistant municipal commissioner over an anti-encroachment drive.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Qureshi. On Monday, the TMC received a complaint that the accused had encroached on a public road outside the Mumbra railway station by keeping empty water drums. Hence, the TMC squad carried out the drive and cleared the road.Later, the accused came to the ward office, created ruckus and even broke a glass on the table and intimidated the civic officials.
The accused has been absconding since then and a case has been registered at the Mumbra police station.
