Liverpool have been backed to bring in German wonderkid Florian Wirtz as Sadio Mane's successor.

The young Bayer Leverkusen ace has scored five goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances, with a club legend backing him for an imminent move to Anfield.

Gordon explains Salah influence

Reds youngster Kaide Gordon has opened up on "role model" Mohamed Salah's impact on his development at Anfield.

Gordon, 17, has been tipped as a star of the future after making his debut for the club in the 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich City last September.

With both players being left-footed and able to operate on the right wing, similarities have been made between the Liverpool pair.

And the young winger has now spoken about how fortunate he is to be able to pick the brain of the "best player in the world" in training.

Wirtz has already been linked with the likes of Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United this season, but a Bayer Leverkusen legend has backed him to make the switch to Anfield in the near future.

Former Leverkusen ace Charly Korbel has said Wirtz even has what it takes to become Sadio Mane's successor in Jurgen Klopp's side.
