MADHEPURA: The 84-year-old Brahmdeo Mandal, who has taken Covid vaccines 11 times, is now aspiring for a booster dose as well. Mandal from Madhepura district has been allowed relief from arrest after submitting a declaration form under Section 41 of the CrPC to Puraini police station following an FIR lodged against him for using different IDs to take vaccine shots 11 times at different places.

“I will take the booster dose as well to see its efficacy. If it is beneficial, then I will take not 12 but even 24 doses,” he told reporters.
Mandal has no regrets for taking multiple jabs and said he did it to get rid of various ailments, including prolonged backache.
Talking to a section of media, Mandal reiterated that he took multiple vaccine doses on the same Aadhaar card and his mobile phone number as well as of his wife on a couple of occasions.
Mandal, a retired postmaster, was booked on the complaint submitted by incharge of Puraini primary health centre (PHC) at Puraini police station area on January 7 for misleading the health department. Mandal had had taken his first vaccine jab at Puraini PHC on February 13 last year.
In a query about the system, Mandal defended the health staff, claiming that most of them had been “unequipped and untrained”. “They were not following the procedures properly. My only fault was that I lied to them every time that I had not taken the vaccine earlier,” he said.
