Delbert E. Pratt Jr. passed away Jan. 8, 2022, at his home out North River. He was born Feb. 3, 1949, to Delbert Pratt Sr. and Bessie Northup in Aberdeen, Washington. Del grew up out East Hoquiam, graduating from Hoquiam High School and also attending Grays Harbor College.

His country was something he took seriously and in his true protective nature, he enlisted in the Navy, serving time overseas in Vietnam.

Before retiring in 1992, he worked driving trucks for several different companies. That early retirement didn’t stop him. He could still be found helping out a neighbor, participating with the motorcycle clubs, or singing in his church choir and local quartets with his beautiful bass voice. Del thrived in being busy and had many hobbies including gardening, canning, and camping that he enjoyed doing with his wife Pam.

Family time was important to Del and he worked hard to be present at any events or outings that involved the people he loved. He had the ability to make everyone feel like they belonged.

Del was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Kasey Caskey. He is survived at his home out North River by his wife Pam, sons John Doll (Cass), Mike Doll (Meca), Rob Doll (Megan) and Matt Mclaughlin; stepdaughter Monica Atwood (Dale), 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, honorary sons Aaron Milton (Christina) and Bob Milton; sisters Marie Caskey (Kelly) and Margret Jenkins (Rick) and brothers John Pratt (Char) and Jim Pratt (Freda)

The family would like to thank the community of North River and the Fire District 15 crew for all of their help, love and support.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, 12 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. A private graveside for immediate family will be held at a later time.
