Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause has revealed he’s ‘over the moon’ after signing a contract extension with the club.

The 26-year-old, who joined Villa in 2019 from Midlands rivals Wolves, has signed a new deal keeping him at Villa Park until the summer of 2025.

Hause had been linked with a move away from the club with West Ham and Watford rumoured to be interested, however the former England under 21 star was delighted to commit his future to Steven Gerrard’s side.

“I’m over the moon,” he told VillaTV.

“It’s a big club, a big part of my life, big part of my football career.

“Since the day I signed, I’ve felt a real love for the club in terms of showing how much they wanted to bring me to the club.

“So from the first day I signed, I’ve felt loved and wanted and to extend for another three-and-a-half years…I’m very, very happy, I’m delighted.”

Hause initially joined Villa on a loan deal in January 2019, and made 12 appearances for the club in their promotion winning season.

That summer he sealed a permanent transfer to Villa Park and has gone on to play a further 42 times for the club.

In total he’s netted four times for Villa in colours, most memorably the winner at Old Trafford in their 1-0 victory over Manchester United earlier in the campaign.

Hause claimed winning promotion and getting Villa back into the Premier League ‘where it belongs’ was his proudest moment at the club, and he's enthusiastic about what the future holds under Gerrard.

He added: “The players we’ve got here, the coach, coaching staff; it’s really, really exciting times for Aston Villa fans.”
