LUCKNOW: A 40-year-old booth level officer (BLO) was crushed by a speeding four-wheeler at 1090 crossing in Gomtinagar on Thursday. Driver of the car and a co-passenger were also killed in the accident.
The deceased were identified as
Bareed Alam (40) of Kannauj, who was deployed as BLO in Lucknow, car driver Ramnivas (28), who belonged to Azamgarh and co-passenger
Manish Dubey (30) of Basti.

Bareed who was standing at the side of
Lohia Path. While he died on the spot, another pedestrian sustained serious injuries. The car driver and the co-passenger, who got stuck inside the car, were rushed to hospital but they could not be saved.
However, one of the passengers identified as Arun was rescued by the police who rushed him to Lohia hospital. The police took over two hours to get the bodies out of the car.
Axes and gas cutters were used to cut the rear door of the car. ACP, Hazratganj,
Akhilesh Singh said that the police have yet to receive any complaint in this connection.
