Juventus are preparing to mount a huge offer for in-demand Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic worth €70million (£58m) and potentially beat Arsenal to his signature in the process.

Mikel Arteta's side have been touted with the Serbian international seemingly all transfer window but are yet to make significant progress in their pursuit.

It is thought that the Gunners' most recent offer consisted of £50m plus Lucas Torreira on a permanent basis as the Uruguayan international is already in Florence on loan for the rest of the season.

Arsenal are also rumoured to be willing to break the bank on Vlahovic when it comes to the striker's wages, with the north London outfit proposing a five-year contract that would see the forward take home £8.3m a season on top of an astronomical signing on-fee.

Negotiations between Vlahovic and Arsenal have proved difficult as it is given the former FK Partizan star is thought to be hesitant over the move and instead favouring a club in a better place to win silverware immediately.

Many had assumed given the precarious situation they find themselves in that Juventus had been priced out of a move for Vlahovic.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Turin-based titans have put together an offer this month that is worth around €70m.

This is because the bid includes winger Dejan Kulusevski, who the club value at €35m, as well as €35m in cash.

As is often the case with Serie A talent, Vlahovic reportedly views Juventus as his preferred destination and the club's sporting director Federico Cherubini is expected to meet the striker's agent in the coming days.

Arsenal boss Arteta has already addressed the relentless rumours touting the club with a move for Vlahovic.

"The team are working extremely hard to get the players that we want and we have no news to give you," The Spaniard told the media.

"We have a plan to try to bring players in and try to get the players we want with the right qualities and improve the squad in the best possible way every single window."

The Gunners are in desperate need of a striker, as exhibited by their failure to score a goal against Liverpool across the two legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Arsenal's last chance of silverware was snatched from them by a dominant Liverpool side who ran out 2-0 winners at the Emirates after a 0-0 draw back at Anfield in the first clash.

All three of Arsenal's current first-team forwards in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could be plying their trade elsewhere come the summer.
