Ralf Rangnick is reportedly looking to sell three 'mood killers' at Manchester United including Edinson Cavani.

There are still ten days before the transfer window closes and it's expected that the Red Devils will trim their bloated squad.

Jesse Lingard, who is set to leave the club as a free agent in the summer, could be sold to Newcastle to avoid the player walking away for free at the end of the season.

And there are plenty of other members of the squad that have an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Bild claim that Rangnick is looking to get rid of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Cavani because the trio have too much influence in the dressing room and are 'killing the mood' in the camp.

Have Your Say! Have Manchester United undermined Ralf Rangnick with Anthony Martial? Let us know here.

The Uruguayan has been surplus to requirements this season after signing a one-year extension in the summer and is keen to find regular first-team football instead of seeing out his contract which expires in six months' time.

Pogba is in the same situation as Cavani but United are still hopeful he'll extend his stay in Manchester with a contract offer still on the table.

Martial has already expressed his desire to leave United and the feeling is mutual after Rangnick called the Frenchman out for refusing to play against Aston Villa.

The Frenchman was unexpectedly left out of the matchday squad during the 2-2 draw at Villa Park, leaving United with just eight players on the bench.

Rangnick was asked about his absence after the game claiming Martial refused to make himself available for the match, but Martial hit back at the German later on Saturday night, insisting that those claims were wide of the mark.

He said on Instagram : "I will never refuse to play a match for Man United.

"I've been here for seven years and I never disrespected and never will disrespect the club and the fans."

Rangnick was then advised to bring Martial back into the fold and encouraged to mend his relationship with the forward due to the club's difficulty in selling him this month.

The interim boss then explained the contradiction between him and Martial as a misunderstanding on Tuesday in an effort to defuse the situation.

He said: “I said all that needs to be said about that after the game. I nominated him before the game and he was not part of the group. You can draw your own conclusions out of that.

“I had a conversation with him on Sunday about all this and, from my perspective, everything has been spoken about, everything resolved, and no need to add anything on top of that.”

Rangnick did not go into detail over the breakdown in communication and who exactly was to blame, but crucially he stuck by what he said originally.

But it's emerged that Martial has been described as "not innocent", according to The Athletic.

After Martial trained fully, Rangnick asked to get confirmation on whether he could play against Villa.

But the forward is said to have taken the question as an invitation and responded that he felt unable to participate due to a knee injury that he cited when Rangnick took over.

This was relayed to Rangnick who interpreted this as Martial ruling himself out of the game.
