Manchester United welcome West Ham to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon at the start of what could be a huge weekend in the Premier League’s top four race.

Man United hardly convinced during the first-half of Wednesday night’s win over Brentford, with David Moyes’s side looking to further stake their claim amongst the league’s upper echelons.

With Chelsea hosting Tottenham on Sunday, a win for either side at Old Trafford would be an early statement of intent as the second-half of the campaign gets underway.

As much as United struggled in the first-half at Brentford, their second-half performance spoke of the individual quality their team possesses while West Ham looked jaded in their recent loss to Leeds United.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game...

Date, kick-off time and venue

Manchester United vs West Ham team news

Prior to the win at Brentford, Ralf Rangnick confirmed Edinson Cavani had picked up a slight injury in training. Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, missed the game because of personal reasons and is likely to do so again.

The same goes for Victor Lindelof after a break-in at his home earlier this week. Cristiano Ronaldo is also a doubt after injuring his neck at Brentford.

For West Ham, David Moyes will make a late call on Tomas Soucek as the Czech midfielder returns from Covid-19.

“We’ve had Covid like all teams and we have injuries as well,” said Moyes.

“Tomas Soucek came back from Covid, we’re not quite sure yet if he’s ready so we need to try and assess that. Hopefully we’re not too bad and we’ll go there and try to do the best we can.”

Manchester United vs West Ham prediction

United are so hard to judge at the moment and, if they play like they did in the first-half against Brentford, West Ham will surely punish them.

1-1 draw.
