Mumbai News: Former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh asked for nestigation of ATS documents related to Anitilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiren murder case on Tuesday. The cases was first handled by Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad and then by NIA.

Mumbai recorded 1,815 new Covid-19 infections and 10 deaths on Tuesday. Recovery rate of the city is at 96 per cent. Currently, there are 34 buildings sealed due to high number in cases. There were 293 people hospitalised in a day and 753 were discharged.

BMC in a statement informed about the water supply cut from 10 am on January 27 to 4 am on January 28. There will be 100 per cent water supply cut in areas such as Saibaba Nagar, Shramjivi Nagar, Shubhash Nagar, Chembur Gaothan, Swastik Park, Chembur Camp, Maitri Park, Union Park, Lal Dongar in M-west ward, Govandi Station area, Tata Nagar, Deonar Municipal Colony, Lallubhai Compound, Mankhurd Village, Defense area in Mankhurd, Cheeta Camp, Trombay Koliwada, BARC area in M-east ward; for 18 hours.

Seven students of a medical college, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Vijay Rahangdale’s son, died after their car fell from a bridge near Selsura in Wardha on Monday night, according to the police. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths of the students and announced Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.

On the case front, Maharashtra on Monday saw a sharp decline in daily Covid-19 cases as it recorded 28,286 fresh infections, 12,519 less than the previous day, and 36 fresh deaths. Mumbai on the other hand,Ā  recorded 1,857 new Covid-19 infections and 503 patients were discharged. This is Mumbai’s lowest spike in daily infections in nearly a month. Total active cases at present are 21,142 and at a recovery rate of 96 per cent.
