Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins completed a two-game sweep of Levanga Hokkaido with an 89-77 win Sunday, Jan. 23 in Japan’s B.League.
Parks had four points, five rebounds and two assists after playing 21 minutes in the contest held before their home supporters at Dolphins Arena.
Nagoya improved to 20-8 for second place in the West after winning 10 of its last 11 games.
The Diamond Dolphins’ good run of form has made Parks the only Filipino player with a winning record thus far in the Japanese league’s 2021-22 season.
Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses were denied a similar sweep by the Mikawa Sea Horses after falling 76-70 at Wing Arena in Nagano.
Ramos scored eight points and had one steal in 18 minutes off the bench for the Grouses, who dropped to 11-19.
Kobe Paras failed to score anew as Niigata Albirex’s skid extended to 25 consecutive matches after being clobbered 89-59 by the Shinshu Brave Warriors.
Paras played just 13 minutes in the match that saw Niigata falling to a league-worst 2-26 record.
Matthew Aquino played four minutes and posted two points and one block for Shinshu, which now has a 12-16 slate.
Javi Gomez de Liano once again inactive for the Ibaraki Robots, who were beaten again by the Hiroshima Dragonflies with a 90-60 decision and dropped to 5-23.
