Police efforts to close down drug posts in Mangaung Metro continues during Safer Festive Season Operation. On Saturday, 22 January 2022 the Tactical Response Team was briefed by the Crime Intelligence Unit Commander on identified drug posts.

The team operationalised the intelligence at hand and at about 17:00 arrived at the identified residential premises in King Edward Street, Willows.

The members conducted a search at the house and found seventeen plastic bags containing dried leaves of dagga, seventeen dagga zols wrapped with rizla paper and cash. The street value of the seized dagga is estimated to be R1 200.00.

The 29-year-old male living in the unit was arrested for dealing in dagga.

Still at the house, the members continued with the search. A total of 11 bankies plastic containers with dagga and cash were found inside the pockets of another African male living at the house. The 37-year-old suspect was also arrested for dealing in dagga.

Two separate cases of dealing in dagga were opened at Parkweg Police Station. The suspects will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 January 2022.
