An early morning fire on Monday displaced the residents of a Pleasanton home, fire officials said.

The blaze, reported about 4:21 a.m., started in the garage of the home in the 5200 block of Pleasant Hill Road, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they found the fire had spread to the house. Due to extensive smoke and fire damage, the home was deemed uninhabitable, deputy fire chief Jason Solak said.

No injuries were reported. The home’s residents were being assisted by the American Red Cross, Solak said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
