Winning the league has always been the Holy Grail for Liverpool fans, especially after it took the club 30 years to land the top-flight title once again.

The Champions League success in 2019 brought a feeling like no other. It was Jurgen Klopp's first trophy in charge at Anfield and it meant so much to the adoring fanbase.

Sadly, the Covid-19 pandemic robbed Klopp, players and supporters of what was sure to be one hell of a party when the Reds won the Premier League in 2020.

Liverpool fans, then, will feel as though they have unfinished business on that front.

But would regaining the title or winning the Champions League, and making it number seven, be more important?

I put the question to the Reds supporters on social media: "Would you rather Liverpool won the Premier League or the Champions League?"

It's safe to say the response was split as fans battled for both sides of the argument and some even said, 'why can't Liverpool do both?'

One of the big arguments for favouring another Premier League win was the fact that Liverpool would make it 20 league titles - equalling Manchester United's total.

Reds fans want to be back on top of the pile in terms of the most domestic title wins in England and their side are so close to doing that, but Manchester City stand in the way.

Personally, I find it hard to see past the Champions League. It's the most prestigious trophy in world football and the euphoria you feel when watching your team win a final is unparalleled.

Only the best teams play in the Champions League and to be crowned the champions of Europe then gives you the chance to compete for the Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Here was one supporter's argument as to why he chose the Champions League over the Premier League:

Whatever happens in the remainder of this season, Liverpool will be going all out for both of these trophies.
