NAGPUR: The
Indian Institute of Information Technology here (IIIT Nagpur) plans to have its own IT park in two years at its permanent campus at Waranga on Wardha Road, where software companies can operate their units. It would be the first among all IIITs in India to have such a facility for students who can do internships in the software units. The
IIITN also plans to build an international standard community centre there.
The premier institution’s plans were revealed during a media interaction organized on Monday to inform about its first convocation ceremony to be held on January 28. On January 23, TOI had published details about the ceremony. Director

As per the director, the placements for its first two batches were impressive despite the Covid-19 pandemic. “The first batch secured 73% placements, while 85% students were placed in the second. The highest annual package offered was Rs 46.75 lakh while the average was Rs 8.44 lakh. In the third batch that will graduate this year, 73% students have already been placed, while interviews and recruitment are underway,” he said. The institution run by
