CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: The northern states of
Punjab,
Haryana, and
Himachal Pradesh reported 13,551 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday along with 67 deaths.
Punjab lost 39 more lives with the inclusion of six old figures and received 5,778 more patients. Haryana reported 6,007 new cases and 17 deaths, while Himachal Pradesh had record 11 deaths in a day, besides 1,766 new cases.
In Punjab, Mohali recorded the highest of 1,097 cases, followed by Ludhiana (666), Jalandhar (529), Amritsar (455), Hoshiarpur (446), Bathinda (376), Kapurthala (292), Moga (221), Ropar (199), Muktsar (192), Ferozepur (167), Patiala (163), Fatehgarh Sahib (153), Faridkot (133), Pathankot (131), Gurdaspur (130), Tarn Taran (85), Mansa 84, Barnala (83),
Sangrur (78), Nawanshahr (56), and Fazilka (42).
The state administered 2,75,246 vaccine doses (1,15,607 first, 1,59,639 second). Also, 12,803 children (aged 15-17) received their first dose, while 25,037 people took a precautionary dose. Haryana’s week started with a surge in recoveries and a decline in new cases. The state reported 11,879 recoveries and 36 cases of Omicron (now 307). The maximum three deaths were reported from Panchkula
Himachal Pradesh reported 3,035 recoveries. Ffive deaths were reported from Shimla district, two each from Mandi and Solan, and one each from Kangra and Hamirpur.
