PANAJI: On the fourth
day of filing of
nominations for the February 14 assembly election, the Commission of India (ECI) received nominations from 15 candidates on Monday, taking the total number of nominations to 18.
On the first day, two BJP candidates, power minister Nilesh
Cabral and former art and culture minister Govind
Gaude filed their nominations to contest the polls from Curchorem and Priol, respectively.
Independent candidate Digvijit Chavan filed his nomination from Navelim.
On Monday, MGP candidate Naresh Sawal filed his nomination for Bicholim, BJP candidate Nilkant Halarnkar for Tivim, BJP candidate Rohan
Khaunte for Porvorim, Pooja Mayekar as independent for Aldona, MGP candidate Pandurang ‘Deepak’ Dhavalikar for Priol, MGP candidate Ketan Bhatikar for Ponda and BJP candidate Subhash Shirodkar for Shiroda.
MGP candidate Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar filed his nomination for Madkai constituency, Congress candidate Sankalp Amonkar for Mormugao, BJP candidate and transport minister Mauvin Godinho for Dabolim, Vishal Gajanan Naik as independent for Cortalim, Ajay Raju Boyer as independent for Curchorem, and former deputy speaker Isidore Fernandes as independent for Canacona
The last date of filing of nominations is January 28. Scrutiny of the nominations will be done on January 29 and the last date of withdrawal of candidature is January 31.
