LUDHIANA: On the first day of filing nominations in Punjab's Ludhiana, three candidates and two covering candidates filed the nominations from different constituencies on Tuesday.
Till the filing of the news, two nominations were filed for the
Dakha constituency while the third one was for the Gill constituency.
For the Dakha seat,
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate and current MLA
Manpreet Singh Ayali and Devinder Singh of Aam Lok Party United put forth their names.
On Ayali’s behalf, his brother
Harkinder Singh filed nomination as the covering candidate. From the Gill constituency, SAD’s Darshan Singh Shivalik filed the nomination, while his wife
Paramjit Kaur Shivalik filed her nomination as a covering candidate.
Meanwhile, district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner of Ludhiana, Varinder Kumar Sharma, briefed the 6 election expenditure observers on Tuesday about the arrangements made by the administration for expenditure monitoring during assembly polls.
