In a new tussle with the West Bengal government, the Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar slammed State Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, Dhankhar also claimed no other central government, except the present central government, has paid due respect to Netaji Subhash Bose.
Slamming West Bengal Chief Minister's for her lopsided "understanding of the Constitution", the governor claimed the situation in Bengal is dangerous and "post-poll violence was unprecedented". Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said that “West Bengal is a state with highest fear quotient.”

Speaking about Netaji tableau, Dhankhar said, “No other central government ever paid due respect like the present government to Netaji. On the Republic Day, people will understand how Netaji Tableau is being portrayed to pay respect to the leader.”

On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, Dhankhar said, “The freedom of voters is missing in Bengal as we have seen unprecedented post-poll violence in the state.”
Dhakhar paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar's statue at West Bengal Assembly on the eve of Republic Day and on the National Voters' Day.

Dhankhar also flayed state assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee, claiming that the Speaker “refused to provide information” to the governor and “used unacceptable language to Raj Bhawan, which is shameful."

Pointing out at the controversy over the issue of approval of Howrah Municipal Bill, Dhankhar claimed, “No bill is pending. The Speaker thinks he can tarnish the image of the governor!”

Reacting to the Governor’s comments, Speaker Biman Banerjee said, “I am astonished and amazed by his comments. I am not sure what he wants. When we correspond, he does not respond.”

Trinamool MP Saugata Roy, attacking the Governor, said, “The Governor is behaving like he is BJP cadre and Raj Bhawan is functioning as BJP office. This kind of behaviour is Unconstitutional.”

Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari claimed whatever claimed by the Governor is justified.
