Pune: Murdered man’s wife, her brother-in-law arrested

PUNE: A 32-year-old woman, frustrated by her alcoholic husband’s harassment, allegedly strangled him to death with the help of her brother-in-law in Mundhwa on Sunday.
The woman initially created the scene that her husband was not responding and alerted the neighbours and landlord. “The landlord took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” an officer from Mundhwa police said.
The doctors informed the police it was not a natural death as there were bite marks on his body and strangulation mark on the neck. “After the final rites, we took the woman and her brother-in-law into custody,” he said. “During sustained questioning, the duo admitted that they killed the man. The woman said her husband was alcoholic and harassed her. The woman’s brother-in-law said the victim started teasing his wife. Due to which they killed him,” he said, adding that the duo were arrested under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
