Vadodara: Braveheart teen girl fights rapist, forces him to flee

VADODARA: She had gone to Surendranagar along with her parents for work. However, her parents had to rush back to Chhota Udepur in wake of a death in their family leaving the teenager behind in Surendranagar. Then began her tryst with a man, who in the pretext of helping her reach home, was only aiming to satisfy his lust.
Unsuspecting of any evil, the girl agreed to tag along and the man then brought her to Vadodara, where he allegedly showed his true colours and began to make advances towards her and harassed her sexually.However, notwithstanding her young age, the girl displayed her towering mental strength and not only confronted his malicious moves and fought off the predator, but ensured that he panicked and ran away from the place.
But, after the victory, the girl had to spend the night out in the cold all alone.
A man who was passing by saw the young girl and informed the police. A team of Abhayam helpline for women reached the spot and took the girl to the Chhani police station and also contacted its counterparts in Chhota Udepur asking them to look for the girl’s parents.
According to Abhayam, the unidentified man befriended the girl in Surendranagar and she did not know the name of her village. The Chhota Udepur team managed to locate it based on the details she provided and informed her parents. They rushed to Vadodara on Tuesday morning and took the girl with them.
