BJP candidate from Sambhal's Asmoli constituency Harendra Singh Rinku faced the ire of some farmers when he was campaigning in Shakarpur village. A group of angry farmers prevented Singh from campaigning, claiming BJP was against farmers. Singh later alleged that the protesters were all SP supporters masquerading as farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attire at the Republic Day parade attracted attention because it had dress items related to Uttarakhand and Manipur, both states that are going to the polls. The PM was seen wearing the traditional cap from Uttarakhand adorned with Brahmakamal, which is the state flower of Uttarakhand. Also, the stole that the PM adorned is peculiar to Manipur's Meitei tribe.A day after being denied the ticket for Saligao constituency, Yatish Naik, one of the early entrants to the TMC in Goa, tendered his resignation. Ansari claimed that RPN Singh tried to further the interests of the BJP even while he was the Congress's Jharkhand incharge.
