GAYA: Agitating aspirants of non-technical popular category (NTPC) examination of railway recruitment board (RRB) resorted to vandalization at Gaya railway station on Wednesday where they set on fire one bogie of a train being prepared as election special.
The railway protection force (RPF) had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the agitating aspirants.
According to a press release issued by district public relations officer (DORO) Gaya, Shambhu Nath Jha, "In view of the agitation by aspirants, the 2nd Stage computer based test (CBT) of CEN 01/2019 (NTPC) beginning with effect from (w.e.f)15th February and 1st Stage CBT of CEN RRC 01/2019 beginning w.e.f.
23rd February 2022 has been postponed".
"Following the agitation by aspirants, a high power committee has been constituted, which would look into concerns and the doubts raised by candidates regarding the results of 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) of Centralized Employment Notification CEN 01/2019 of NTPC issued by RRBs on 14-15th January 2022".
The press release adds: "The candidates have been given three weeks time upto February 16 to submit their concerns and the committee after examining the concerns will submit their recommendations by March 4."
The candidates can lodge their concerns and suggestions to the committee at following email id rrbcommittee@railnet.gov.in.
All Chairpersons of RRBs have also been directed to receive the grievances of candidates through their existing channels, compile these grievances and send the same to Committee.
Meanwhile, Gaya station superintendent Umesh Kumar said, "The aspirants set on fire one of the bogies of a train in the yard, which was being prepared as election special. However, the fire was dodged immediately and any severe damage was averted".
