GREENSBORO, N.C. — Today: Morning Showers / Storms. Partly Cloudy. Afternoon Storms Possible. High 81.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy. Few Showers. Low 61.

Friday: Partly Cloudy. Few Showers. Cooler. High 75.

Saturday: Partly Sunny. Cool. High 72.

WEATHER SUMMARY:

A wet commute is expected in the Piedmont this morning as rain and scattered (possibly) severe storms track across the area. We are in the "Slight Risk" (Level 2) area for severe storms. Damaging winds and hail will be the primary threat. However, an isolated tornado is possible. Heavy downpours could produce standing water on streets and highways. This area of rain and storms will be mainly east of the area by mid to late morning. The high will be 81. It will be partly overnight with a low of 61. The morning rain may stabilize the atmosphere making it difficult for storms to redevelop in the afternoon. However, there will likely be scattered showers.

Friday will be partly cloudy with a chance of scattered showers. The high will be 75. The cold front will cross the Piedmont on Friday. Behind the front, cooler and drier air will filter into the are making for a very nice and pleasant weekend. It will be partly sunny Saturday and Sunday with highs in the lower 70's. Morning low temperatures will be near 50.

The normal low is 55, and the normal high is 77.
