BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Earlier this afternoon, Senator Mitch McConnell visited the FEMA disaster recovery center in Bowling Green.

He met with Judge Executive Mike Buchanon, U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie, and other local officials to discuss relief efforts nearly two months after the tornadoes.

McConnell said the city has made tremendous progress since the day the disaster hit.

When asked about the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and his replacement, he said he will wait to comment until Breyer confirms the news himself.

“Justice Breyer has not made an official announcement, he’s entitled to do that whenever he chooses to and when he does that I’ll have an official response to his long and distinguished career,” said McConnell.

According to reports, Justice Breyer will be finishing out his term before retirement.
