MOUNI ROY MADE HER ACTING DEBUT IN KYUNKI SAAS BHI KABHI BAHU THI

From a background dancer in Run to becoming an established name in the Hindi entertainment industry, Mouni Roy has come a long way in these 17 years. The actress rose to fame with Naagin, a supernatural show that revolved around the revenge story of a shape-shifting snake. But, the Gold actress first impressed the audience with her acting chops in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Krishna Tulsi, an orphan raised by Tulsi (Smriti Irani) in Haridwar. She was seen opposite Pulkit Samrat on the show.

Naturally, Smriti Irani took to Instagram to congratulate Mouni on her wedding to Suraj Nambiar.

MOUNI ROSE TO FAME WITH DEVON KE DEV MAHADEV

Moving on. Mouni, who hails from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, rose to fame with her role of Sati and Parvati in Life OK's (now a defunct channel) Devon Ke Dev Mahadev. She was seen opposite Mohit Raina, who played the role of Lord Shiva on the show. The mythological series was a huge hit, which helped the actress to get a huge fan following.

MOUNI'S SKYROCKETING POPULARITY WITH NAAGIN

After impressing everyone as the Goddess, Mouni's popularity grew manifold with Naagin. The supernatural drama, which was a finite show, was a TRP topper. Week after week, the show ruled the ratings charts and made Mouni a household name. In Season 1, Mouni played Shivanya, opposite Arjun Bijlani. She was seen in a double role in Naagin 2, opposite Karenvir Bohra. Fans loved her on-screen chemistry with both Arjun and Karenvir on the show.

Her skyrocketing popularity on television got the actress a good break in Bollywood. She forayed into films with Akshay Kumar's Gold as Monobina. Mouni, who is a trained dancer, was seen Tum Bin 2 song Nachna Aunda Ni. Her dance number Gali Gali in KGF Chapter 1 (2018) got great views on YouTube. She was seen next in Romeo Akbar Walter and Made in China next. She was last seen in Velle, opposite Abhay Deol (2021).

Mouni Roy is awaiting the release of the superhero trilogy Brahmastra. She plays the antagonist in the film, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan. The film is directed by Ayan Mukerjii and produced by Karan Johar. Talking about her role, Mouni had said in an old interview, "I am playing the main villain in the film. I am really looking forward to it. What is more liberating for me is playing different characters that challenge me. I was surprised initially that they wanted me to play the villain."

Mouni Roy is among the few television actors who have successfully transitioned into films. We can't wait to see her in Brahmastra. Also, congratulations to the new bride and groom, Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar!
