Allahabad HC: Exhume Kasganj body for 2nd autopsy
Kasganj police station
AGRA: The Allahabad HC has directed UP police to exhume the body of 22-year-old Mohammad Altaf, who was found dead in a lock-up in Kasganj district on November 9 last year, and send it for a second postmortem to AIIMS-Delhi within 10 days. The directions were issued by a bench of Justices Anjani Kumar Mishra and Deepak Verma, who had been hearing a petition moved by Altaf's father, Chand Miyan, seeking a CBI probe and a second autopsy.

The bench also said the photographs and videos should be submitted to it and to the committees conducting judicial and ministerial inquiries. Police had claimed that Altaf hanged himself from a three-feet-high tap in a bathroom within the lock-up premises. His family had alleged that he was "murdered in custody".
