Bommai launches devpt works in Haveri district

Haveri: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday launched various developmental works at his assembly segment, Shiggaon-Savanur of Haveri district.
Works Rs 93 crore, like those on Savanur lift irrigation, Urdu school building, warehouse at Hulugur, three Dr B R Ambedkar Halls, were launched on the occasion. He also laid the foundation stone to projects worth Rs 3 crore, and offered bagina to Dodda Kere at Hirebendigere.
Speaking to media, Bommai said that the state economy is growing gradually despite being hit by the pandemic.
The CM admitted that his government is accepting an appeal by Kannada Sahitya Parishat to recommend ‘National Poet’ sobriquet for senior writer Channaveera Kanavi. “We will recommend it to the Union government because the senior poet deserves that.”
Water resources minister Govind Karjol and Haveri district minister Shivaram Hebbar, Senior officials and others were present.
