PATNA: Six districts of Patna, Nawada, Nalanda, Gaya, Sheikhpura and Jamui are the hotspots of cybercrime in the state. It was revealed in a meeting of the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the state police to discuss the nature and style of cybercrime.
ADG (EOU) Nayyar Hasnain Khan instructed the officials of these districts to make a list of the cyber criminals and arrest them soon.

The meeting was called in compliance with the Patna high court order and also to prepare a strategy to check cybercrime in Bihar. Khan asked the police officers to coordinate with their respective district magistrates and organise a mass awareness campaign to appraise people about various types of cybercrime.
Officials in the meeting pointed out that physical crime was turning into digital one now and there was a need for formulation of standard operating procedure (SOP) to tackle cybercrime.
Khan instructed the officers present in the meeting to include IT Act in the FIR lodged for cybercrime and not get them investigated by cops less than the rank of a police inspector.
He said the complaints of telecom service providers regarding procurement of fake sim cards should be registered without delay and such information should be passed on to the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax Department.
