PM Narendra Modi to address public meet in Kaushambi & Prayagraj

PRAYAGRAJ: As the polling day for the fifth phase of assembly elections is fast approaching, public meeting of several political leaders are lined up in Prayagraj. Among them, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election rallies in Prayagraj region including in Kaushambi on February 23 and second one in Phaphamau, Prayagraj on February 24.
During these public meetings, the PM will primarily be seeking support for BJP’s and its ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) candidates in fray from 12 assembly seats of Prayagraj, seven seats of Pratapgarh and three of Kaushambi district while also urging people to vote for BJP candidates in the entire Kashi Pranth area of the saffron party that covers this entire belt of Uttar Pradesh comprising 12 administrative districts including Bijnor, Sonbhadra, Varanasi and Amethi.BJP’s Kaushambi district president Anita Tripathi informed that the PM would hold a public rally in the district on February 23. “The visit has been finalized. In coordination with the district officials the venue and time of the public meeting is now being worked out,” she added.
Likewise, Prayagraj city unit president of BJP Ganesh Kesarwani said that the PM would address a public meeting here at Phaphamau area on February 24. In light of the proposed visit, senior BJP leaders including national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, state vice-president MLC Laxman Acharya and BJP women’s wing national executive committee member Nanda Dagla have already arrived in the district and are coordinating with local BJP leaders in this regard, he added.
This will be the first time that PM Narendra Modi is going to hold a public meeting in Phaphamau area of Prayagraj. Since 2014, the PM has come to Prayagraj seven times: Four times to Parade Ground, twice to Andawa and once to KP College ground.
Senior BJP leader and union minister Nitin Gadkari will undertake campaigning in Allahabad North assembly constituency area of Prayagraj on Feb 22 even as union minister Piyush Goyal will do so in Allahabad North area on February 23. A road show by union home minister Amit Shah too is set to be held on February 25. Union defence minister Rajnath Singh will also garner support for BJP candidates in Patti assembly seat area of Pratapgarh district.
According to SP Kaushambi, Hemraj Meena, “Although we have not received the official protocol, but the PM would be arriving in the district on February 23. The venue of his public meeting has not been decided yet”.
