Bihar: Main accused in twin murder case arrested in Madhubani

Police arrested Shiv Kumar Jha, the main accused in the gruesome murder of a pregnant woman and her brother who were set on fire over a land dispute on February 10, from Saharghat in Madhubani district on Friday night.

DARBHANGA: Police arrested Shiv Kumar Jha, the main accused in the gruesome murder of a pregnant woman and her brother who were set on fire over a land dispute on February 10, from Saharghat in Madhubani district on Friday night.
Earlier, eight accused were arrested with the help of CCTV footage two days after the incident.
Shiv Kumar had attacked the house of one Sanjay Jha along with large number of his associates and demolished a portion of the house on G M Road here with an earthmoving equipment.
The house was later set on fire. Sanjay, his pregnant sister Pinky Jha and younger sister Nikki had sustained burn injuries in the incident. Sanjay and Pinky had later succumbed to their burn injuries at a hospital in Patna on February 15.
Shiv Kumar, a land mafia, was brought to Darbhanga on Saturday after his arrest. Darbhanga SSP Ashok Kumar Prasad said the accused had fled to Nepal after the incident. "As Shiv Kumar returned to Saharghat, he was arrested with the help of technical surveillance. Police are interrogating him," the SSP added.
