Mysuru: Close on heels of opposition to the closure of national highway between
Chamarajanagar and
Tamil Nadu, a leopard was found dead on a highway near PG
Palya in the district.
Foresters said there are no external injuries on the big cat to immediately conclude that a speeding vehicle had fatally knocked it down.
The big cat was found dead near
Gurumallappana Doddi. The highway connects to Tamil Nadu and three vehicles are supposed to have passed through the point, sources in the forest department said.
The incident happened in the
Byaluru range of the BRT tiger reserve forest.
