24 students from Khagaria, Saran still trapped; 32 of Nalanda leave Ukraine

At least 24 students from Saran and Khagaria are still trapped in war-hit Ukraine while the 32 students from Nalanda were successfully evacuated from different areas to neighbouring Poland and Romania and they are likely to return home soon according to the flights

Khagaria/Chhapra/Biharsharif: At least 24 students from Saran and Khagaria are still trapped in war-hit Ukraine while the 32 students from Nalanda were successfully evacuated from different areas to neighbouring Poland and Romania and they are likely to return home soon according to the flights schedule.
Nalanda DM Shashank Shubhankar informed the parents on Wednesday that their wards had safely crossed Ukraine borders and they would return home soon.
Eight out of the 40 students from the district in Ukraine have already returned home since the outbreak of war on February 23. The DM said Indian officials were taking care of the accommodation and other necessities of the students and they would be sent home soon.
Saran DM Rajesh Meena said out of the 26 students from the district, 11 have returned home. ADM Dr Gagan said two persons, identified as Rahul and Pawan arrived at New Delhi airport on Wednesday morning and Kumar Sanjeev of Chhapra had boarded a flight for New Delhi. The district administration and disaster management department are in touch with the other 12 to evacuate them safely, officials said.
In Khagaria, Kunal Chowdhary of Rahimpur village returned to Patna on Monday, but remained concern for at least 12 other students from the district who were still stranded in the various cities of Ukraine. According to sources, Ankit Raj, son of Arun Kumar of Raun village under Alouli block, Abdool Hashmi, son of Abdool Hadi of Saidpur village under Mansi block, Ravi Kishan, son of Sanjeev Kumar of Balha village, Rohit Kumar of Khutiya village, Priyadarshi Vishal of Chitraguptanagar locality, Prince Raj of Sanhauli village, Abhinit Singh, son of Ambika Singh of Kurwan village under Beldaur block, Amrit Raj of Sirajpur village under Parbatta block, Anshuman of Ranko village, Avinash Singh of Bakhri bus stand locality, Nitish of Nawada village and Shubham of Bandehra village in Khagaria were still stuck at various places in the war zone.
Khagaria DM Alok Ranjan Ghosh said all possible steps are being taken for early and safe return of the students from Ukraine. The DM talked to the family members of Abdool Hashmi, a native of Saidpur village, Ravi Kishan of Khutiya village beside others over the last couple of days. DDC Abhilasha Sharma, ADM Shatrunjay Mishra, SDM Dharmendra Kumar and district public relations officer Faiyaz Akhtar also interacted with the family members of the students stranded in Ukraine.

Saran DM has suggested the stranded students to follow the advisory issued by the authorities and not get panicked. “The Indian government is in touch with Ukraine and neighbouring countries to evacuate rest of them through Operation Ganga,” Meena said.
The district administration had earlier issued a list of students from Saran studying in Ukraine. They include Ankita of Deopura under Rasulpur, Subham of Bathui, Amrit Ray of Sonepur, Vishwajit of Kondh, Kumar Prem of Dariapur, Abhijit Upadhaya of village Awaaari, Prakash Anmol of Mashrakh, Amit of Ishuapur, Sanu Shekhar of Marhoura , Sanjeet of Manjhi, Rahul Ranjan of Manjhi, Amir Sohal Ansari of Olhanpur, Kumar Vikash of Pithouri, Rahul of Sultan Gosi, Sudhir of Kasmar of Sonepur, Priya Komal of Makanpur, Abhishek of Pakahan under Marhoura police station, Ranjan Abhinav of Sonepur, Sanjeev of Bathui under Parsa police station, Ali Nawab of Taraiya, Arvind Kumar of Kutubpur under Doriganj police station, Nilu of KutubPur under Doriganj police station and Sahil Rahman of Baniyapur among others.
