One injured in clash between JD(U) and SP men in Jaunpur

With the end of polling hours on Monday evening the supporters of muscleman politicians and Janta Dal (United) candidate Dhananjay Singh and Samajwadi Party’s Lucky Yadav clashed in Rithi area of Malhani assembly constituency in Jaunpur district.

Varanasi: With the end of polling hours on Monday evening the supporters of muscleman politicians and Janta Dal (United) candidate Dhananjay Singh and Samajwadi Party’s Lucky Yadav clashed in Rithi area of Malhani assembly constituency in Jaunpur district.
SP worker Sandeep Yadav suffered injuries in the incident and was referred to Varanasi after initial treatment at the district hospital, confirmed the ASP (rural) Jaunpur Shailendra Singh mentioning that no group has lodged any complaint in this connection so far.
The police is keeping a sharp vigil in the area to avoid recurrence of any untoward incident.
The supporters of Dhananjay and Lucky Yadav came face to face many times near polling station in Malhani assembly area during the polling hours. In Rithi, both the groups were blaming each other for fake voting and after the voting hours ended, both the groups clashed.
Chaos prevailed after both the groups indulged in brick batting in the local market. Yadav suffered grave injuries and many motorcycles were also damaged in the incident. Both the groups alleged that firing in air also took place during the clash. However, no report of firing could be confirmed during investigation by the police, said Singh.
Yadav was rushed to the district hospital. The SP’s district unit president Lal Bahadur Yadav and Lucky Yadav along with other leaders of party also reached the district hospital to meet Yadav. The SP district chief said that the party leadership in Lucknow has been made aware about the incident.
Meanwhile, in Chandauli, a 16-year-old boy Jaikishan Bind suffered bullet injuries under mysterious circumstances in Arangi village under the limits of Kandva police station on Monday late night. His family claimed that some miscreants entered the house and fled after opening fire on him over electoral rivalry. However, following initial investigation, police found the incident as doubtful. CO Sakaldiha Aniruddh Singh said that further investigation in this case is in progress.
