4 people, including 3 women, held for kidnapping infant from Punjabi Bagh

The Delhi Police has arrested four persons, including three women, for allegedly kidnapping an infant from west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area.  The accused have been identified as Bhawna (28) and Pawan (29), residents of Kishanganj, Rekha Jain (50), a resident of Shakarpur, Babita Jain (38), a resident of Mojpur.

According to Ghanshyam Bansal, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), West district, on Friday, a woman lodged a complaint about kidnapping of her 45 days old daughter from her shanty by one Bhawna and her accomplices. "Bhawna and her associates went to woman’s house and when she did not find her child, the woman caught Bhawan. During investigation, efforts were made to trace the kidnapped girl.

With the help of technical assistance, police identified all the accused persons who were involved in the crime and later nabbed them," said the DCP. The kidnapped girl was recovered from Babita within three hours of registration of case. The girl handed over to her family.  Investigation of the case is still in progress, said DCP. Bhawna told police that she had a few miscarriages, so she adopted this crime to become a mother and involved other persons in it, police said.
