Andhra BJP, regional leaders join AAP

Prominent leaders of the BJP and other regional parties joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday after it registered a stupendous victory in Punjab Assembly polls. Former BJP leader Chinnam Rama Kotaiah and Jan Sena leader Attili Raju joined AAP, the party said. They joined AAP in presence of senior party leader and MLA Somnath Bharti.

Chinnam Rama Kotaiah has been a member of  BJP. He contested Lok Sabha elections from Pileru constituency on BJP’s ticket in 2019, and was MLA from TDP for Nuzvid Assembly constituency in Andhra Pradesh for years 2009-2014. He also served as General Secretary of trade union at HMDA for 14 years. He has also earned a doctorate in Infrastructure Development. Somnath Bharti said: “I heartily welcome him to party on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal.

The entire country is being heavily influenced by Kejriwal model of development and kind of progress that it has made in State of Delhi.” “People are constantly joining AAP after seeing phenomenal work being done by Kejriwal Government in all sectors including schools, hospitals, electricity, water, roads and public welfare,” he said. Many BJP and Congress leaders from Haryana had also joined party on Monday. The BJP's former Gurugram MLA Umesh Agarwal and ex-Minister and senior Congress leader Bijendra Singh were among those who joined AAP.
