Yavatmal is Covid-free, 1st time amid pandemic

Nagpur: The lone patient in Yavatmal district recovered on Tuesday in home isolation only making the district virtually Covid-free for the first time since the first patient was detected here in March 2020. Chandrapur having 3 patients as on date, and Wardha with 2 are also on the way to become Covid-free districts.
In all 7 new cases were reported in the region on Tuesday from 5,581 tests.This means, the test positivity was 0.12% only, lowest after the third wave. Nagpur 4, Chandrapur 1, Buldhana 1 and Washim 1 only reported new Covid cases. All other districts reported zero new cases in the last 24 hours. Total 53 patients, including 20 in Nagpur, recovered in the day. With no Covid death on Tuesday, the number of Covid casualties remained at 3 in Vidarbha in March so far.
Now, the region has 129 patients under treatment, majority of them in home isolation. No district in the region has more than 50 ‘active cases’ left now. Nagpur also has 46 patients under treatment.
Nagpur district conducted 1,699 tests in the day out of which 4 tested positive. Nagpur city (NMC) and Nagpur district (rural) reported 1 case each. Remaining 2 cases of Tuesday came from other states/district patients. Out of 20 recoveries in the day, 12 are from Nagpur rural (district) while 7 from Nagpur city.
Amravati: No new cases and no Covid deaths ensured a safe day for the district on Tuesday. Four recoveries took the total to 1,04,305 for a rate of 98.46%, bringing down the number of under-treatment patients to eight.
Chandrapur: Three patients were left under treatment following solitary detection out of 812 tests and six recoveries on Tuesday. The new patient was detected in Chandrapur city. The day again remained casualty-free. The caseload crawled up to 98,954, which includes 97,384 recoveries and 1,567 deaths.
Wardha: The district has not reported any new case from 316 reports, also no recovery or death on Tuesday. The caseload, total recoveries and toll remained unchanged at 58,100, 57,135 and 1,351, respectively. Two are undergoing treatment as on Tuesday.
Yavatmal: The district finally became Covid-free on Tuesday. One patient under treatment recovered and was discharged on Tuesday. No new patient was detected on Tuesday which enabled the administration to declare the district Covid-free.
Akola: All 248 tests conducted in last 24 hours were negative. As 3 out of the 15 under-treatment patients recovered on Tuesday, 12 active cases are there in the district now.
Washim: One new case and 2 recoveries were reported on Tuesday. Now, the district has 10 patients under treatment.
Buldhana: One new case was reported out of 234 reports received in last 24 hours, while 12 patients recovered. Now, the district has 22 patients under treatment.
Gondia: Zero day was reported as all 186 tests resulted negative on Tuesday. Now, the district has 9 patients under treatment.
Bhandara: No new case was reported as all 623 tests conducted in last 24 hours were negative. Four patients recovered. Now, six are under treatment.
Gadchiroli: Total 558 tests were conducted and none tested positive. As 1 of the patients recovered, total 11 are now under treatment.
