Gadchiroli cops bust fake Maoist gang
Nagpur: Gadchiroli police on March 12 arrested two persons, Mallesh Aulwar (24) and Shrikant Sidam (20), for their alleged role behind trying to extort Rs 25 lakh from a private road construction company posing as ‘Maoists’. The duo was trapped from Jimela bridge in Aheri taluka of south Gadchiroli.
Apart from rounding up the two youths, the police have also seized Maoist uniform, fake firearms and other materials like rucksacks imitating the rebels from the accused duo.

Sources stated around three to four persons, in olive green attire, had barged into the office of the VM Matere India Private Limited at Gaddigodam demanding Rs 25 lakh as protection money to allow them to continue the road construction work.
The so-called fake Maoists had urged the company representatives to hand over the amount to them at Jimela bridge.
Following a tip-off, cops from Aheri police station reached the place posing as managers of the road construction company and nabbed the duo. They have been remanded till March 17.
