PRAYAGRAJ: A woman was raped inside the public toilet near Pratapgarh railway station in the
Kotwali police station area in the wee hours of Saturday allegedly by the man who is the caretaker of the facility.
Senior police officials have constituted three teams to arrest the accused.
Police registered a case under section 376 of IPC against the accused identified as
Shubham Modwal alias
Anna, a resident of Kotwali.

Abhay Pandey told TOI that the woman had reached Pratapgarh railway station with her husband on Friday night as they had to catch a train for Ahmedabad. At around 4am on Saturday, when the woman’s husband went to bring tea and breakfast, she went to the public toilet where she was raped.
The woman and her husband approached Kotwali police soon after to lodge a complaint and she was sent for medical examination. A case was also registered in this regard. Police have detained two persons to collect clues about the accused and his whereabouts.
