Hyderabad: The efforts of Mahabubnagar district administration in framing the ‘Largest Seed Ball Sentence’ with 73,918 seed balls and preparing 2.08 crore seed balls in 10 days last year earned them a place in the Guinness book of Records.
The Guinness certificates were presented to SHG women in the presence of Green India Challenge founder and MP J Santosh Kumar and Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud at a programme here on Tuesday. The Guinness Records were dedicated to Green India Challenge.
Addressing on the occasion, MP J Santosh Kumar thanked the district administration for dedicating the Guinness Records to Green India challenge.
He complimented the Tourism Minister and SHG women for preparing 2.08 crore seed balls in just 10 days, surpassing their own record of 1.18 crore seed balls. “I request you to make 3 crore seed balls,” Santosh Kumar told to the SHG women.
He also appreciated the district administration for developing KCR Urban Eco Park – the biggest urban park in the country. The MP also announced that he would sanction Rs.50 lakh funds for establishing a mini Zoo in the KCR Urban Eco Park, which is spread in over 2087 acres.
Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud said prior to 2014 Mahabubnagar was known for drought and backwardness. After TRS Government came to power, the district was witnessing rapid development and under this initiative 25 new parks were developed, besides the KCR Urban Eco Park.
“All the 2.08 crore seed balls were scattered over different places in the district. A birds’ enclosure will be launched shortly at KCR Urban Park,” Srinivas Goud said.
