One Station One Product: Madhubani paintings, handloom items at Patna Jn
Patna, Mar 26 (KNN) Railways has opened an exhibition-cum-sale of Madhubani paintings, crafts, handloom products and garments under the 'one station, one product'.
The exhibition will be held under pilot programme of the railways 'One Station, One Product' on platform number one at Patna Junction .
This is the first of its kind at Patna Junction under the jurisdiction of Danapur division of the East Central Railway (ECR).
Railways has selected Patna Junction for putting up such an attractive exhibition-cum-sale, ECR chief public relations officer (CPRO) Birendra Kumar said.
According to Kumar, the sole purpose behind opening the exhibition-cum sale at Patna Junction is to promote local skilled workers and artisans.
According to CPRO , railways has launched this pilot project as announced in the Union budget 2022-23 fiscal to ameliorate the lot of local skilled workers, weavers and artisans by displaying their works at a major station through exhibition cum sale programme so that they could earn their livelihood on their own , he said.
Madhubani paintings and art have already earned laurels for railways in the past, CPRO said. (KNN Bureau)
