Vettel to start his F1 season in Australia

Aston Martin have confirmed their star driver Sebastian Vettel will be fit to race at the Australian Grand Prix.
Sebastian Vettel has recovered from COVID-19 and will race in the Australian Grand Prix.

Four-times world champion Sebastian Vettel is set for a belated Formula One season start in the Australian Grand Prix after missing the first two races due to COVID-19.

Vettel's Aston Martin team confirmed on Thursday that he would make the trip to Melbourne for the April 10 race after fellow German Nico Hulkenberg stood in for him in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia alongside Canadian regular Lance Stroll.

Aston Martin have yet to score a point in 2022, with Williams the only other team to have drawn a blank in both races.

"We are pleased to confirm that Sebastian Vettel is now fit to race and will therefore line up alongside @lance_stroll in Melbourne to kick off his 2022 @F1 season," Aston Martin said on Twitter.
