Uttar Pradesh: Acid thrown on woman in Kaushambi

Miscreants threw acid on a 30-year-old woman at a deserted spot under Manjhanpur police station of Kaushambi district on March 28. The woman was admitted to hospital and two days later an FIR has been lodged on her complaint on March 30.

PRAYAGRAJ: Miscreants threw acid on a 30-year-old woman at a deserted spot under Manjhanpur police station of Kaushambi district on March 28. The woman was admitted to hospital and two days later an FIR has been lodged on her complaint on March 30. Raids are now being carried out to nab the accused, police said on Friday.
According to SHO Manjhanpur police station, Vinod Kumar Singh said that a case has been lodged against two named and another two unidentified miscreants in connection with the incident and attempts were on to arrest the accused.In her complaint, a resident of a village in Manjhanpur area, the woman informed that she was returning home from fields in the evening on March 28 when at a deserted spot, four persons on bikes assaulted her.
They threw some inflammable substance (acid) on her. Because of the assaulted she sustained burns on her face and other parts of the body. The victim identified two of the attackers as Dharmendra Singh and Ramu aka Arun Singh. The woman claimed that the accused tried to kill her earlier as well but despite making complaints, no action was taken against them. The victim demanded action against the accused and protection to her family.
