Uttar Pradesh: Body of a man with bullet injuries found in Unnao

Panic prevailed after the body of a man, who had returned to his native place from Delhi, was found lying in a pool of blood on the road along the farm in Auras area of Unnao district, on Saturday.

KANPUR: Panic prevailed after the body of a man, who had returned to his native place from Delhi, was found lying in a pool of blood on the road along the farm in Auras area of Unnao district, on Saturday.
The man was shot in the head and a country-made firearm was found lying nearby. The police have expressed the possibility that he might have committed suicide.
At the same time, there were also rumours that he was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants. Police are investigating the case from every possible angle.
The police identified the deceased as Sanjay (30), son of Sukhlal, resident of Vairi village of Auras police station area. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when the locals spotted his body lying on the road near the village. They informed the police and his family members.
The police, along with a dog squad rushed to the spot and investigated the incident site. At the same time, the police have seized the pistol and a mobile phone lying near the dead body.
According to the police, Sanjay lived in Delhi with his wife and children. He had returned alone from there on Friday. According to family members, he had left the house at around nine o’clock in the night. In the morning hours of Saturday, they were however apprised that Sanjay’s body with bullet injuries on the right side of his temple was found lying on the road near the village.
“The body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem examination. We are awaiting autopsy report to ascertain whether the man had committed suicide or was shot dead. We are also scanning the CDR of his mobile phone to ascertain whom he was in touch with prior to his death,” said ASP Unnao Shashishekhar Singh.
